LCSD Celebrates High Performing Status

 

At the annual district-wide picnic held on Thursday, September 15th, 2011, all schools were recognized for their continuing growth in academic performance as witnessed by the designation of the district by the state department of education as a High Performing School District. WDAM television featured local districts in a telecast on Wednesday, September 14th. You may watch the video here (76.9mb - mpg format). The district made improvements across the board from the previous years with a breakdown as follows:

Baxterville - Increasing 14 points in QDI from 138 to 152 and going from academic watch to successful
 
OGLE - Increasing 4 points in QDI from 186 to 200 and moving from high performing to STAR
 
OGUE - Increasing 5 points in QDI from 191 to 196 and staying at high performing and 4th grade lang. arts scores increasing in advanced and 5th grade math increasing in advanced
 
OGMS - Increasing 1 point in QDI from 199 to 200 and moving from high performing to STAR.  4 perfect Alg. I scores in 8th grade
 
OGHS - Increasing 15 points in QDI from 214 to 229 and moving from high performing to STAR.  Increase in % passing in English II
 
PUE - Increasing 14 points in QDI from 155 to 169 and moving from academic watch to high performing.  4th grade lang. arts scores increasing in advanced and 5th grade math increasing in advanced
 
PMS - Keeping their QDI at 159 and staying at Successful.  All 18 Alg. I students scored advanced.
 
PHS - Increasing 23 points in QDI and staying at Successful.  Increase in % passing of Alg. I and English II
 
SES - A QDI of 180 staying at High Performing.  An increase in 4th grade writing scores and 4th grade lang. arts scores increase in advanced
 
SMS - Increasing 12 points in QDI from 179 to 191 and staying at High Performing.  7th grade writing scores were the highest in the district at 2.5
 
SHS - Increasing 8 points in QDI from 200 to 208 and giving them a Triple STAR, being a STAR school 3 years in a row.  English II and Alg. I increase in % passing.
